Summerland's 11th Annual Earth Week Celebration
2020 marks the 50th anniversary of global Earth Day celebrations, and the 11th Annual Earth Week celebration in Summerland.

Our 14th Annual Earth Day planting of native trees and shrubs will hopefully be reschedule for the fall.

Although this year’s Earth Week activities cannot be in-person due to the COIVD-19 crisis, the District of Summerland is excited to share a variety of #EarthDayAtHome activities that resident can partake in on their own at whatever time works best for you!

In 2020, Summerland marked the 50th anniversary of global Earth Day and its own 11th Annual Earth Week celebration. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, traditional in-person events were replaced with #EarthDayAtHome activities, encouraging residents to engage in environmental initiatives individually. The 14th Annual Earth Day planting of native trees and shrubs was postponed, with plans to reschedule in the fall. This adaptation highlights the community's commitment to environmental stewardship, even amid unprecedented challenges.
