Canyon View Cemetery - Spring Maintenance Begins May 1

The District of Summerland will begin Spring Maintenance at Canyon View Cemetery on May 1, 2025. As part of this cleanup, we will be removing offerings that do not meet the Cemetery Bylaw 2012-016 guidelines.

We kindly ask the public to assist by removing any non-compliant offerings by April 30, 2025. Items that should be removed include:
❌Offerings not entirely on the concrete base or within 50 mm (2 in.) of the edge
❌Items that are unsightly, hazardous, or interfere with maintenance
❌Small objects (necklaces, stones, marbles) that may get caught in equipment
❌Items encroaching on landscaped or neighbouring sites
❌Glass or breakable materials

❌Sharp or pointed objects that could pose a safety risk

🌿𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬?
➡️Items will be photographed, tagged, and stored for 60 days at the Works and Infrastructure Department.

➡️Wilted or unsightly flowers will be discarded.

Although we will take care in removing offerings, the District cannot be responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
