Summerland residents can now recycle end-of-life books at the Summerland Library during open hours. This includes damaged books and those with low resale value, such as outdated textbooks and encyclopedias.

The Summerland Landfill has ended its book recycling program due to theft of recycling carts. Moving the program to the library offers a convenient option for residents at no extra cost.

Please note that softcover and hardcover books are not recyclable through home recycling collection or at the landfill. However, magazines and equipment instruction manuals are acceptable.
