For those requiring support or a place to seek relief from the heat, the Summerland Resource Centre (13204 Henry Ave) is open weekdays 9:00-4:00 pm (closed for lunch noon-1:00 pm).  They have bottled water and snacks for drop-ins.  For seniors requiring assistance, please call 211 or visit https://bc211.ca/ (older adults tab) and the Resource Centre volunteers will be dispatched to provide support.  The District of Summerland and the Resource Centre are working together to monitor this week’s heat wave and are prepared to expand services if required.  Please call the Resource Centre 778-516-0015 or the District of Summerland 250-494-6451 to report any issues or for further information.
