Bill Payment Options
Paying Online Through Your Bank
You may set the District of Summerland as a "Payee" when paying online through your bank. Depending on the banking institution, search for "Summerland" first and then either the District of Summerland or the Corporation of Summerland, and then "Utilities". If you are unable to set up our Utility Account on line, contact your bank. Be sure the correct Utility Account number is set up. Allow for at least 3 - 5 business days for processing to ensure we receive the payment before the due date. The District of Summerland must adhere to the transaction date which the bank electronically sends to us.
It is important to remember that if you move within Summerland, your Utility Account Number will change each time. Be sure to have your banking information is changed to show the new account number.
Paying at your local bank
You may pay your Utility Bill at most local banks using your current Utility Account number located on the top left hand side of your bill. Please ensure that the account number is verified when doing so. Allow for at least 3 - 5 business days processing to ensure we receive the payment before the due date.
Make a payment Online by Credit Card:
The District of Summerland is now accepting online payments with select credit cards (Visa and Mastercard through the secure OptionPay System (with third party fees). Note that all processing fees are charges by OptionPay and are not received by the municipality. Please allow 3 - 5 business days for processing.

Payments Currently Accepted through the OptionPay for the following:

Paying in person at the Municipal Hall
The District accepts cash, cheque or debit payments.

Mail or courier
Postmarks are not accepted as proof of payment. In the event of a postal disruption, an alternate payment method should be used. Cheques should be made payable to the District of Summerland. Please include the remittance portion of your bill along with your payment and write your account number on the cheque.
Municipal Hall external drop box
You can drop your payment in the box located at the front just left of the doors. Do not put cash in the drop box. Please include the remittance portion of your bill along with your payment and write the account number on your cheque.
