Agricultural

Summerland has a rich agricultural history. We have over 2000 hectares (5400 acres) of land protected by the Provincial Agricultural Land Reserve. This represents one third of Summerland's land mass.  Summerland has over 250 individual farms, primarily tree fruits and vineyards. Gross farm receipts in 2011 were over $17,000,000. Summerlanders enjoy fresh fruit, vegetables, meat products and local wine, much of which has organic status.
